Feeling like the Tortoise...

and not the Hare this week! I've been suffering from headaches and burning eyes, so I've been a bit "out of it" all week.
So....my Challenge # 56 is posting a little late this morning. I was sorta feeling like the Tortoise all week, but hoping to be more like the Hare today. I have lots to do on my "to do list" today.

Our Challenge this week was to make a bookmark. I thought this was a super fun challenge and one that could be used for Teacher Appreciation week coming up next week, or as a small gift for your kiddos tackling those TAKS tests this week, etc, etc.

I made my bookmark 2 sided because I just couldn't decide on just one image...I loved them all! LOL

I thought this was great for pages you want to read slowly, and others you can just speed through!
Bookmark Details: Digi images-Speedy Hare and Steady Tortoise-Whimsy Stamps Store, Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Clear Acetate Scalloped Circle: Used my Nestibilitie dies and scraps of Acetate from packaging. The smaller circle at the other end of the ribbon is a Washer from the hardware store that is covered with the same paper. Ribbon: WalMart, I also used those "Reinforcements" by Work Solutions (WalMart) to reinforce my punched hole on the bookmark.

Isn't this a super fun challenge?! I thought so! Please join us over at Meljen's Challenge Blog and play along!

I am also linking this project to a challenge going on over at Do It With Digis-I Can See Clearly Now, the challenge is to use a digital image and acetate.

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Happy Easter!

Well, it's almost Easter! One more day!! Hope your Saturday is going well. Here is a card I made using an image from Tiddly Inks:

Card Details: Digi Image--Tiddly Inks, Patterned Paper-The Paper Studio, Border Punch-Martha Stewart, Circles-Nestabilities, Ribbon-Offray, Misc. Glossy Accents on glasses, Marvy Uchida white gel pen on Easter egg.

Even though I like to celebrate the fun part of Easter--the cute colors, yummy candy, boiled eggs, good food etc...I will never forget the true meaning of Easter.

Jesus died for our sins, he was put on a cross, died and buried in a tomb. On the third day he rose again.
Jesus has risen and lives today!

Matthew 28:1-10

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

Thank you for letting me share this. May your Easter be filled with many blessings!

WooHoo! I JUST got some good news!!!

I am so glad I took a break from my crafting to check my email! I JUST got the news that I am going to be able to participate in a really fun swap!

This is my first swap with this group of ladies' and Angie and Beth of My So Called Chaos were kind enough to let me slip in at the last moment! WooHoo!!!

Okay...now back to my crafting!!!

**UPDATE:, I got my swapping pal! Her name is Jennifer and she's a Texan like me!!!! YeeHaw! LOL
Here is her blog...she's got some funny stories about her cute kids, I'm having fun reading! My Crazy Life is filled with informative stuff, cute stuff, funny stuff, and more!! I cannot wait to get to know her better...I'm sure we're gonna be teaching eachother a whole lot!

Friends Forever

**Please scroll down for my Meljen's Designs New Releases and New Challenge.

This is my 2nd post for today because tomorrow I am supposed to take my daughter shopping for a prom dress. That will be an all day event! And...knowing me, I'll either forget to post this OR get too lazy to post this card for Challenge #59 over at Sassy Cheryl's. This week's challenge week is
"Think Spring".  This is so easy for me to do because I live in South Texas so it's been spring for about a month now! LOL

And look at my card...no ribbon, no stickles and no bling! I'm shocked myself! I always seem to add those to my cards...but not with this one. I was aiming for a more simple look so I could hightlight the super cute image!

Card Details: Digi Image-Sassy Cheryl's, Patterned Papers-Doodlebug Designs, The Paper Studio, Sentiment-Microsoft Works, Border Punch-Fiskars, Machine Stitching, Chalks and Copics to color.

These past few days I've been participating in challenges to get myself to create more cards to give. And it's worked. I'm sure my husband wishes I'd join a housecleaning challenge so I could get more housework done...but that wouldn't be any fun would it!? LOL

Have a great day!

**I am also entering this in Craft Challenge's challenge for this week. Their theme this week is "Easter".  It is being sponsored by Whimsie Doodles.

Welcome Baby!

Good Thursday to you! I know I've told you that I really like Thursdays..but I'll say it again....
"I REALLY like Thursdays!" LOL

You are SO Sweet!

Good Tuesday morning to you! We got a cool front last night, so this morning was nice and chilly! 50 degrees and NO humidity! :) Today's high is in the 80's so we have a beautiful day in store for us here in South Texas!!!

I read this on Facebook this morning and posted it as my "status"...because it's SO true!

Good old Texas...where the tea is sweet and accents are sweeter, summer starts in April, front porches are wide and words are long, macaroni & cheese is a vegetable, BBQ is the state food, y'all is a proper pronoun, chicken is fried, biscuits come with gravy, everyone is honey, someone is always getting their heart blessed, and we are all "fixin" to do something. Repost if you are PROUD TO BE FROM TEXAS! :)

**Only  a Texan would understand this! LOL

Okay, now down to business...here is my card for today:

Card Details: Digi Image-Whimsiedoodles, Cardstock-Bazill, Patterned Papers-The Paper Studio and My Mind's Eye, Border Punch-Fiskars, Coloring-Copics, Stickles-"Cotton Candy" by Ranger-Course Crystal Glitter-Martha Stewart, Misc. Ribbon, Pink Floss, and handmade Tulle "Poof". :)

Thanks for visiting! Have a blessed Tuesday!
Oh..and I have a question for you? What do you love about the state you live in?
I love our food, music, and culture!

It's a Boy!

Good Friday morning!!! I hope you are having a wonderful day! Here in South Texas it's sunny and warm...today's high is in the upper 90's! Yikes! And it's only April! Oh well.......

I wanted to share with you a  Baby Boy gift I have been working on:

When I saw these images over at Whimsie Doodles, I just knew they would go perfectly with this fabric, toy and gift set! I had a difficult time deciding on which to use..the zebra or the giraffe?! I opted for the giraffe because of the Garanimals toy I was using.

I'm using this image and project in the

Box Office Whimsie Doodles Wednesday Challenge
These images remind me of the cute characters in the movie Madagascar!

My gift basket contains  a cute stuffed giraffe toy, a baby size bath towel, a washcloth, a matching onsie, and a bottle of  baby bath wash and baby shampoo!
Project Details: Stuffed Toy-Garanimals, Johnson & Johnson's Baby Bath and Shampoo, Onsie, bath towel and wash cloth all embellished with matching fabrics.

Thanks for visiting today! Have a blessed Friday and a great weekend!!!

Pillowcase Dress, FlipFlops and a Hairbow!

Look at what I did today!! I just love this set!!! I made this pillowcase dress today and then decided it needed a hairbow to match. Then I thought, "hey...why not add some cute flip flops to finish the outfit off?!"

So...here's my 3 piece Ensemble!

The dress!

Matching Flip Flops!

And the Hair Bow!

Isn't this a super fun set!!! I really wish my daughter could have worn something like this at her age. She's 17 now so there is no way I could get into any kind of matching set! LOL
